Davipharm sponsored training on Tobacco Harm Prevention 2025
From October 22–24, the training course on Tobacco Harm Prevention 2025 organized by Bach Mai Hospital for HCPs of the South region took place in Can Tho City, Davipharm – a member of Adamed Group joined the event.
The program updated knowledge on the harms of active and passive smoking as well as new-generation tobacco; diagnosis and treatment for tobacco addiction; and counseling skills for establishing smoking cessation support centers.
Smoking is a major risk factor for most NCDs such as cardiovascular – kidney metabolic diseases, stroke, COPD, asthma, lung cancer and others. According to the Ministry of Health, more than 100,000 deaths in Vietnam each year are linked to tobacco-related illnesses.
Quitting smoking is a crucial first step toward preventing NCDs. Through tobacco harm prevention training programs, Davipharm reaffirms its commitment to work alongside the healthcare sector in reducing disease burdens for a healthier Vietnam.
Since 2021, Davipharm has partnered with the Ministry of Health in the “Caring for Vietnamese Health” program, providing free NCD screening (hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, gout, osteoporosis…) for nearly 28,000 people, training HCPs, and reaching over 10 million people with health education on NCD prevention.
