Production Manager (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

We are looking for an experienced manager to oversee production operations at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site operating in compliance with EU GMP standards.

Scope of Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Planning and supervising the execution of the production schedule
  • Ensuring operations comply with EU GMP, WHO GMP, and MOH Vietnam regulations
  • Optimizing utilization of machinery, production lines, and resources
  • Monitoring key indicators: on time delivery, OEE, productivity, conversion costs, losses, deviations, safety performance

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintaining the highest GMP standards
  • Collaborating with QA on deviations, CAPA, change control, and audits
  • Preparing the site for regulatory GMP inspections

Team Management

  • Leading operators and team leaders
  • Developing employee competencies
  • Actively building a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Process Optimization

  • Implementing Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence
  • Conducting root cause analyses and implementing improvement actions
  • Initiating optimization projects to increasing efficiency

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Close cooperation with: Quality Assurance, Engineering, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Research & Development, Packaging & Lean

Requirements & Experience

  • Higher education in pharmacy, chemistry, biotechnology, process engineering, or related fields
  • Practical experience in an EU GMP or PIC/S environment
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Manufacturing of tablets, capsules, oral liquids (sterile/semi-solid experience is a plus)
    • Understanding of HVAC and cleanroom systems
    • Equipment qualification and process validation
    • Training in pharmaceutical industry standards
  • 3–5 years of managerial experience
  • Experience in cross-functional or international projects is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of ERP & QMS systems is a plus
  • Ability to work under time pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Independence and strong sense of ownership
  • English — fluent communication
