Prime Minister Donald Tusk: Adamed’s investment supports the development of Vietnamese industry and cooperation between Poland and Vietnam
Hanoi, 26 October 2026 – Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk highlighted Adamed’s investment in Vietnam as an example of how Polish investments can effectively support the development of Vietnamese industry. He emphasised that this cooperation benefits both countries and contributes to their economic growth. During the Polish-Vietnamese Business Roundtable, attended by the prime ministers of both countries, he identified pharmaceuticals as one of the three most promising areas of cooperation, alongside the defence and space industries. Małgorzata Adamkiewicz, MD, PhD, Co-owner of Adamed, announced the further development of the company’s operations in Vietnam and its expansion into Asian markets.
“We already have an example showing that Polish investments can effectively support the development of Vietnamese industry. Adamed’s investment has been accompanied by the expansion of manufacturing capabilities, technological upgrades and higher quality standards. This is a good example of the model we would like to develop: Polish capital, technology and experience combined with the expertise of Vietnamese specialists and the potential of the local market,” said Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
He emphasised that pharmaceutical cooperation could include further investment, research, the expansion of manufacturing capabilities, and the export of medicines and medical devices to other markets in the region.
Vietnam as Adamed’s strategic growth hub in Asia
Davipharm, a member of the Adamed Group since 2017, is the largest Polish direct investment in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The company operates a manufacturing facility and a research and development centre in Vietnam.
“We want Vietnam to become our strategic growth hub in Asia, enabling us to expand into other markets across the region. The country’s dynamic development and enormous potential reinforce my belief that we should continue investing here with a view to building a long-term presence,” said Małgorzata Adamkiewicz, MD, PhD, Co-owner and President of the Supervisory Board of Adamed Pharma.
The company also announced plans to expand its cooperation with Vietnamese schools, universities and institutions in the areas of innovation, knowledge transfer and improving patients’ access to high-quality medicines.
Adamed highlights barriers in Vietnam
Representatives of Polish businesses discussed barriers that hinder further investment and the introduction of new medicines to the market. For Adamed, these include lengthy delays in medicine registration and the absence of transition periods when regulations are amended.
“We need a stable, predictable and efficient regulatory environment,” said Michał Wieczorek, General Director of Davipharm.
Donald Tusk also addressed the need to streamline procedures.
“Large-scale industrial and technological projects require predictable regulations, transparent procedures, efficient certification processes and access to appropriate financing instruments,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
Prime Minister of Vietnam Lê Minh Hưng made a similar declaration.
“We need to coordinate the review and timely removal of institutional barriers, improve the business environment, and facilitate trade and investment activities,” said Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng.
Adamed hopes that the declarations made by both prime ministers will lead to streamlined procedures and better conditions for further investment in Vietnam.
Davipharm: the largest Polish direct investment in Vietnam
Adamed began investing in Vietnam in 2017 by acquiring a majority stake in Davipharm. Since 2023, it has been the company’s sole owner.
Davipharm employs nearly 500 people and manufactures more than 300 products across 12 therapeutic areas. It was the first manufacturing facility in Vietnam to receive EU-GMP certification for its high-potency medicines production area, including oncology medicines. It is one of the few pharmaceutical manufacturers in the country to hold this European certification, confirming compliance with stringent European quality standards.
