Davipharm – Built on international quality, reaching beyond Vietnam

Davipharm is strengthening its position as a local pharmaceutical manufacturer operating to international standards, with EU-GMP certified non-HP manufacturing area and the country’s only EU-GMP certified HP Zone for high-potency medicines, including oncology products. Since entering Vietnam in 2017, Adamed Group has invested nearly USD 70 million in Davipharm, supporting the company’s long-term development, manufacturing capabilities and technology transfer.

As Vietnam’s pharmaceutical sector faces rising demand for high quality medicines, stricter regulatory requirements and rapid changes across healthcare, EU-GMP certification provides Davipharm with a strong foundation to serve Vietnamese patients and expand into international markets contributing to the advancement of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry.

From European expertise to international quality

Adamed Group acquired a controlling stake in Davipharm in 2017 and became its sole owner in 2023. Since then, Adamed’s expertise, management experience and technological know-how have supported Davipharm in adopting international best practices and strengthening its manufacturing operations in line with European standards.

Since 2021, Davipharm has been among the few Vietnamese pharmaceutical companies to achieve EU-GMP certification for non-sterile solid dosage forms, including hard capsules and tablets. In 2024, Davipharm became the first and only pharmaceutical manufacturer in Vietnam and Southeast Asia to achieve EU-GMP certification for an HP Zone dedicated to the manufacture of high-potency medicines, including oncology products.

Davipharm continues to enhance quality through investment in technology, workforce development, and compliance with international standards and globally recognized GMP requirements.

The company conducts annual Certified Investigator and Certified Auditor programmes under the guidance of Qualified Person with international experience. Employees across Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Production, R&D, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Technology Transfer and other functions are trained in EU-GMP-based practices, with a focus on deviation management, investigation and continuous improvement.

Investing in capacity, technology and R&D

Davipharm’s next phase of growth is supported by continued investment. From 2027 – 2031, the company expects to invest almost US$15 million in infrastructure, including production lines and laboratories, while preparing to upgrade the factory toward ANVISA requirements. The future plan could increase manufacturing capacity to around two times its current level.

Automation, digitalization and improvements in manufacturing and quality processes are also part of this transformation.

R&D remains a strategic priority, with almost US$30.5 million planned for investment for the 2027 – 2030 period. Davipharm’s R&D teams develop an average of 13-15 new products each year, focusing on high-quality medicines and emerging treatment needs.

Building an export platform from Vietnam

International market expansion is increasingly central to Davipharm’s strategy. From 2025 to 2028, the company is focusing on building an export platform in Southeast Asia through product registrations in ASEAN markets, while preparing for longer-term opportunities in Europe, South America and other markets.

By 2033, Davipharm aims to become Vietnam’s leading domestic pharmaceutical exporter. The ambition is supported by Davipharm’s EU-GMP manufacturing capabilities, its Philippines FDA certification and its ongoing preparations to meet ANVISA requirements.

For Davipharm, international expansion is about demonstrating that high-quality pharmaceutical products can be developed and manufactured in Vietnam to internationally recognized standards, contributing to the growth and global standing of the country’s pharmaceutical industry.
