Carvedilol may be used for the treatment of hypertension alone or in combination with other antihypertensives, especially thiazide diuretics.
Carvedilol is used for the treatment of mild to moderate heart failure of ischemic or cardiomyopathic origin, usually in addition to diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and digitalis,to reduce disease progression (proven by mortality, duration of cardiovascular treatment in hospital, or need to change to other heart failure agents).
